Today's Lunch

The garden is producing a large amount of squash now. In fact, some have overgrown and it is time to "bless" some friends with some I think. My children will enjoy dropping it off at the doorstep, knocking on the door, and then running. My kind of fun. Here was today's lunch: Sauteed patty pan and crooked neck squash with Walla Walla onion and garlic, topped with grated cheddar cheese. Yum. I just found this recipe for patty pan squash. I personally like to eat mine when they are smaller, but this recipe looks great for overgrown size. Patty Pan recipe

Those vegetable are amazing. Here we have "patisson"a kind of delicious marrow, but it's white coloured looking exactly like the flat one.
Thinks seems the same but they are quite different.
We have plenty of zucchini and yes it is delicious when very young. Even raw.
With flowers we do fritter: just soaked in pancake batter, than fried.

Ah, one can make lots of good things with squash. One of my favorite zuchini dishes is baked zuchini cut lengthwise in half and then filled with hamburger topped with melted cheese.
